UNIVERSITY OF LINCOLN – ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR CLINIC
We are a referral only animal behaviour clinic.
In order for us to see a dog or cat for a behavioural consultation we need a referral form and clinical history from the referring veterinarian and a history form from the owner.
The Clinic is still open and we are offering consultations as well as follow-up by telephone, e-mail, or Teams as appropriate. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have had to change the way that we work, and are currently offering consultations remotely.
If you are a pet owner we are able to offer an initial consultation via Microsoft 365 Teams or other virtual meeting packages. The consultation will involve expansion of the history form submitted, an assessment and our recommendations going forwards. This may be limited to management advice in some cases.
Due to not being able to perform a physical examination (where our veterinary behaviourists may otherwise have done so), in some cases we may ask you to send us additional information, possibly including video footage of your pet (if it is safe to do so). If we feel this is necessary we will discuss the details with you as it is important to ensure safety and welfare of all. Therefore, please do not put yourself or other pets at risk trying to collect footage of problem behaviour.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via email at email@example.com
Please send us a completed veterinary referral form and a full up to date clinical history for the pet
Please send us a completed pet (dog or cat) history form
Once we have received the veterinary referral form, a clinical history and the pets history form, we will be in touch to book you in for a behavioural consultation.
DAYS AND TIMES: Consultations take place Monday to Friday throughout the year. Please allow several hours for your visit as consultations are usually 2-3 hours in length.
WHO: We usually ask you to bring all your pets and all members of the family to the consultation if possible.
VIDEO: In addition, if you have any video footage of your pet’s behaviour, please email the footage to us or bring the footage with you to the behaviour consultation. If you do not feel it is safe to video tape your pet’s behaviour, please do not attempt to make a video.
INSURANCE: If your pet is insured check if they are covered for behavioural problems. Although we cannot claim directly from the insurance company, we are happy to complete the necessary paperwork to enable you to claim the money back on your insurance. In all cases where further medical tests or medication are required these will be arranged and charged through the referring veterinary surgeon.
